Michael Cafferty serves as general counsel for the FDI Group. He oversees the legal affairs of the corporation, including litigation and transactional matters, with a focus on compliance issues and health care law. He also manages governance and regulatory compliance for the Board of Directors and is responsible for the various ethics and internal governance programs implemented by the FDI Group and its related companies.
Prior to attending law school, Michael completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with High Distinction in 1981.
Michael graduated Magna cum laude from Wayne State University Law School in 1984 and was elected by the faculty to the Order of the Coif, an academic honor society for law graduates.
Michael has attained the highest possible rating (“A-V”) from Martindale-Hubbell, the most recognized national authority for peer review evaluations of attorneys.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and reading both fiction and non-fiction literature. He is also an avid hockey player, competing in several hockey leagues in the Metro Detroit area and often skating 3 or 4 times a week.

Jitender Sunke is the chief technology officer for the FDI Group. Jitender is responsible for overseeing all aspects of information technology, information security, data and analytics. He also supports the growth of FDI’s business by partnering with the internal teams and business units on IT and analytics related revenue generating programs.
Before joining the FDI Group, Jitender spent more than 15 years at ITC Holdings Inc., as Enterprise Resource Planning Applications Manager. Prior to this position, Sunke worked in a variety of industries including healthcare, utilities, electronics and automotive.
Jitender first joined The FDI Group as a director of applications & infrastructure, overseeing activities such as client services, product development, cyber security and operations support.
Sunke attended Osmania University, in Hyderabad, India, where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Master’s degree in Computer Applications. Sunke is a PMI Certified Project Management Professional.

Jayne Schefke is executive vice president of finance and human resources, overseeing these departments as well as administration and network service departments. Jayne is responsible for corporate financial planning, analysis, and forecasting, as well as capital commitment planning and competitive analysis.
Prior to joining FDI Group on an executive level, Jayne worked with the GBF agency. There she processed group enrollments for life insurance and performed accounting responsibilities, and was later promoted to office manager. She worked for the GBF Agency from 1983 to 1991 when they were acquired by FDI Group.
Today, she leads a team of professionals specializing in accounting and human resource management. Jayne was named to this position in 2003. During her tenure with the FDI Group for over 30 years, Jayne has been an integral part in the growth and development of the FDI Group family of companies.

With over thirty years of experience in the insurance industry, Fred Holland has had the opportunity to be involved with the large, alphabet insurance brokers such as Marsh and Fred S. James. Fred specialized in large commercial accounts including Fortune 500 and self-insured companies, and held the role of vice president.
Fred later joined a private insurance agency in Birmingham, Michigan as a minority owner and led sales and marketing efforts. During this period, Fred also introduced the Alternative Funding concept to the agency and wrote accounts into the Rent-a-Captive markets. It was here Fred was able to focus on homogenous groups and self-insured clients in both the private and public sector.
Fred joined the FDI Group as an executive with FDI Risk Managers and continues to specialize in the Alternative Funding programs including but not limited to: Captives, Rent-a-Captives, Self-Insurance, Pooled programs and Fronted programs.
Fred holds a Michigan Agent Insurance License for Property & Casualty, Michigan Insurance Counselor License, and Michigan Surplus Lines Agent License. He is Certified and a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, the Society of Certified Professional Insurance Agents and a member of the Michigan Licensed Insurance Counselors Association.

Bruce Stubbs is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the FDI Group claims management companies: CompOne Administrators, ManageAbility, MAI IME, Rizikon, and Startech Software.
Bruce is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate people, processes, and tools are in place to enable delivery of services and for building a culture of continuous improvement within the companies. He integrates work across the core and quality assurance operations, and coordinates with other functions to support business success and provide continuous value to customers.
He began his career in the insurance space as an account executive for a work hardening firm, and then as the vice president of sales for a regional TPA. There he gained experience in managed care products, independent adjusting services, and claims administration in the property and casualty markets.
Bruce joined the FDI Group of companies as vice president of sales in 2005. He led efforts in sales and business development and was an integral member in the financial planning and reporting, pricing, estimating and cost management activities within the claims management companies. In 2006, Bruce was appointed to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Bruce is a member of the Knights of Columbus and spends his free time volunteering to help disabled children. He is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services, having served as a Military Police Officer. Bruce has three grown children and is a native of the Chelsea, Michigan area.

As vice president of operations, Ryan manages and leads a number of organization-wide processes for CompOne, ManageAbility, MAI IME, Rizikon, and Startech Software. These companies focus on exceptional claims administration and related services, and Ryan is actively involved in their day-to-day oversight and support.
Prior to being appointed to his current position, Ryan served as an account executive for CompOne Administrators. He worked closely with self-insured employers helping them reduce risk and overall exposure by implementing best practices, medical cost containment processes, and return-to-work programs for their specific business.
Ryan is a member of The FDI Group executive board and has played a leadership role in the expansion of technology engagement and was instrumental in the successful implementation of numerous corporate initiatives to ensure stability and continuity of service to customers.
Ryan earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan. In college, he was a 3-time NCAA All-American in wrestling and 3-time NCAA Academic All-American. He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and daughter.

Mark Churella Jr. is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the George B. Ford Agency (GBF).
Prior to GBF, Mark joined CompOne Administrators in 2003, and held the position as executive account manager. In this role, he analyzed client needs, coverage forms, and quotations. He also reviewed audits of policies and worked as a liaison between client and carrier. He then transitioned to a producer role for GBF, specializing in writing business for property & casualty and personal lines.
Appointed to his current post in 2008, Mark holds overall executive responsibility for customer relationship management, expanding the company’s long‐term strategic business pipeline, driving growth, and executive oversight of program execution.
Mark is a member of The FDI Group executive board and is intimately involved with the promotion of business continuity and innovation initiatives. His focus is to continue the design of customer service oriented improvement processes, identify business acquisition opportunities, and foster strategic relationships.
Mark earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 2002. He, his wife, and two young children, reside in the greater South Lyon area.

As president and chief executive officer of the FDI Group, Mark Churella oversees the strategic direction of the suite of insurance services that make up the family of companies. He guides the development and implementation of enterprise investment strategy and provides direction to leadership functions and business organizations to meet the enduring needs of our customers.
Mark entered into the industry in 1984 as an insurance agent in the family-owned agency of Financial Designs, Inc. which was founded by his father, Robert G. Churella, Sr. in 1970.
In 1988, Mark was appointed president and CEO of Financial Designs, Inc. Under his leadership, the FDI Group was established in 1990 to serve as the controlling entity of the growing number of companies. Today, there are nine affiliates thriving under the FDI Group umbrella. Each company is dedicated to serving the best possible results, people, and service to clients that have come to rely on FDI’s premiere insurance solutions.
Outside of business, Mark is passionate about the non-profit organization he co-founded, Beat the Streets Detroit. This organization’s mission is to teach discipline, commitment, and other key building blocks for success to Detroit youth through the sport of wrestling.
A native of Farmington Hills, MI, Mark earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1979. As a student at the University of Michigan, he competed in wrestling and became the University’s only 3-time NCAA Champion. He and his wife reside in Novi and are proud parents to three sons, Mark Jr, Ryan and Josh, and five grandchildren.
